in either San Jose, CA or Hillsboro, OR, the Application Engineer
will provide customer support and process solutions for the
optimization and utilization of Canon products at the customer’s
location. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with
lithography, metrology, software and/or modelling capabilities who
enjoy a technical challenge working with equipment, processes and
customers. You will work at various customer sites to support the
integration and continuous operation of our semiconductor
equipment. If you have experience with lithography, metrology or
semiconductor processing, this could be the job for you! - Optimize
and track both semiconductor lithography process and equipment in
the field - Respond to issues in the field regarding equipment or
customer processes and communicate with domestic and international
design teams for successful resolution. - Analyze data, identify
causes and provide solutions with other application engineers as
well as the field service team. - Discuss and negotiate with
customers about semiconductor product specifications and testing
implementation and methods. - Work with customers to improve
products performance using analytical and problem solving skills

problem solving skills About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required plus 3-5
years of related experience or a Master’s degree in the field. -
Bilingual communication skills (Japanese/English) are a plus -
Experience with semiconductor processes especially lithography
systems. - Experience with related semiconductor equipment such as
SEM’s or metrology systems. - Solid understanding in data
structures and data analysis. - Strong problem-solving experiences
and skills. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint,
Word. - Overnight travel required. Will require travel (specify
domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs -
Requires up to 75% overnight travel. A valid driver's license and
acceptable driving record is necessary. Additionally, because this
position requires driving for company business as an essential
function of the job, the applicant must remain in compliance with
company safety guidelines and policies. - Excellent leadership and
communication skills - Persistent attention to detail - Knowledge
of semiconductor automation system in SEMI SECS/GEM a plus -
Computer Linux, UNIX and scripting languages such as SQL a plus -
Japanese speaking/reading a plus - Microsoft Applications
(PowerPoint, Word, Basic Excel) and any other Database knowledge
skills a plus. - Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds
individually and for lifting over 50 pounds assistance may be
available. - Substantial amount of standing, walking, typing,
grasping, talking and hearing. - Some amount of driving required,
sometime for multiple hours at a time. - Occasionally kneeling,
crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and climbing stairs
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity with or
without corrective lenses for extensive reading; visual inspection
involving mechanical / electrical parts, small parts, and/or
operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement
devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to
the eyes. - Working in lab may require wearing gloves, safety
glasses. - The work environment may include a variety of physical
conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical
current, exposure to chemicals, lasers, close quarters, narrow
aisles or passageways. - The work environment may include working
in highly time sensitive situations requiring quick resolutions. We
are providing the anticipated salary range for this role $76,150 -
