Job Description:
Our IT client is seeking an Implementation Engineer for a long
term project to join their team. The ideal candidate will have to
work Hybrid in San Jose with expertise in DNAC, Routing and
Switching, The candidate has very good customer service and project
management skills, which will align successfully in the
organization. Job Title: Implementation EngineerLocation: San Jose,
CA (must be willing to be onsite at the Cisco campus in San Jose
--- some hybrid work potentially) The Implementation Engineer will
be responsible for the planning, design, deployment, and support of
Cisco-based network solutions and specializing in Cisco
technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical
expertise in Cisco routing, switching, and security products, along
with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Key
Responsibilities:Network Design and Implementation:
- Design, configure, and implement Cisco network solutions
including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
- Develop detailed network architecture diagrams and
documentation.
- Conduct network assessments and audits to ensure optimal
performance and security.Project Management:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope,
objectives, and deliverables.
- Create and maintain project plans, timelines, and status
reports.
- Ensure timely and successful completion of network
implementation projects.Configuration and Troubleshooting:
- Configure and deploy Cisco devices in accordance with industry
best practices and company standards.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for
complex network issues.
- Implement network changes and upgrades while minimizing
downtime and ensuring network stability.Customer Interaction and
Support:
- Work closely with clients to understand their network
requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct on-site and remote support for network installations
and configurations.
- Provide training and knowledge transfer to customers on
implemented solutions.Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network
configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Generate technical reports and pre/post-implementation reviews
to assess project success and areas for improvement.
- Ensure all network changes are documented and communicated
effectively.Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce network security policies and
procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory
requirements.
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability
scans.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology,
or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be
considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on
Cisco technologies.
- Proven experience in the design, deployment, and
troubleshooting of Cisco network solutions.
- Experience scoping, planning, and implementing network changes
for critical locations.Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies
(e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). CCNP Level
- Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and Cisco DNA
Center. (DNAC is a must-have )
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst devices (3K, 8K, 9K series)
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (e.g.,
Python, Ansible).
- Experience creating and editing ACL's.
- Providing timely updates in a ticketing system (JIRA experience
preferred)Certifications:
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are
highly desirable.
- Additional certifications in network security or wireless
technologies are a plus.
- Project Management trainings are a plus.Soft Skills:Strong
analytical and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication
and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part
of a team.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage
multiple projects simultaneously.Continual Process

creatively Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of cloud networking solutions and integrations (e.g.,
AWS, Azure).
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
- Project Management experience
- Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with some remote work
opportunities.
- On-site physical work required.
- Off-hour work during implementations (Nights and weekends)
