The Embedded Firmware Engineer - ESS focuses on developing ESS
Embedded Software for our Energy Storage Systems. The role is
responsible for SW design, code development and support
verification and validation. This role works closely with other
Algorithm / HW / Cell Engineers in the Battery team and other cross
functional team members to develop requirements and to support
integration testing at Powertrain, ESS system, or cell and module
level. This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a
week. What you can do: Development of detailed embedded SW design
for distributed and redundant ESS Implementation of algorithms
developed by other engineers in MATLAB/ Simulink/C for Energy
Storage Systems Development of robust communication interfaces like
CAN, Ethernet, SPI Development of CAN database, prioritizing CAN
messages, building and parsing CAN signals Establish required code
development and verification environments needed and use it for SW
builds, verification and release Develop GUI to display CAN,
Ethernet and SPI signals for verification and product acceptance
testing Follow high-quality design / code review processes and
adherence Support HIL development and validation of BMS HW & SW
validation May require up to 10% of domestic and international
travel Other duties as assigned What you can contribute: Bachelor's
degree required in electrical, computer engineering, or computer
science with focus on embedded system development for real time
applications; Master's degree preferred Minimum of three (3) years
of experience in embedded SW development in automotive or aerospace
industry (an equivalent combination of education and experience may
be considered) Experience in development of CAN, ethernet, and SPI
communication Demonstrated experience in design and development of
embedded SW Production level embedded SW development experience for
real time systems, preferably in energy storage systems Excellent
programming skills in C, C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python scripting
Excellent skills in communication, problem solving and strategic
thinking Excellent skills required in technical communication, and
reliance on data for issue resolution and decision making Sense of
urgency, proactive delivery of communication and follow up
Excellent organizational skills, collaborative thinking, and
attention to detail Proficiency with MS Office 365 Suite
specifically for data analysis, document creation and reporting Any

depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and
location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of
