TEST ENGINEER
Spectra7 Microsystems, Ltd. is a high-performance analog
semiconductor company delivering unprecedented speed, resolution
and signal fidelity that enables ultra-light, high-speed,
micro-thin interconnects which enable new classes of industrial
design for market-leading datacenter interconnects (such as
Ethernet and Infiniband) and consumer electronic products
(including UHD 4K Displays and VR headsets).
Spectra7 is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on individual with a
passion for excellence and innovation and to become the technical
resource of products' reliability testing and qualifications,
interfacing with R&D, contract manufacturing partners and
suppliers to help solve issues. Successful job execution requires
excellent participation in all aspects of the operations process
with hands on experience in Reliability, Quality, New Product
Introduction and Testing.
The opening is for a full-time position reporting to our head of
operations.
Responsibilities
- Proficient programming/scripting in Java, Visual Basic, Python,
Perl, C, and/or C++ languages
- Experience in test program development, debug, and release on
one or more of the following ATE platforms is a plus:
- Advantest V93K/SmarTest software
- Teradyne Systems/IGXL software - UltraFLEX, J750 and Eagle ETS

- Hands-on and experienced with FMEA, design for reliability
(DFR), DFT and design for manufacturability (DFM) concepts,
particularly as they relate to process, property and complex
manufacturing systems
- Demonstrate ability to analyze and troubleshoot products from a
Systems Engineering perspective
- Drive all product qualification and reliability related
activities, including but not limited to failure analysis,
tracking, reporting, and communicating with internal teams,
suppliers and customers.
- Plan and execute reliability testing and extended time modeling
for products
- Proficient in generation and debug of patterns supplied by
customer in STIL, WGL, ATE formats, VCD, EVCD into test patterns
for ATE or reliability systems.
- Experience in development of reliability programs and patterns
for HTOL systems
- Strong technical understanding and excellent troubleshooting,
debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience debugging new PCB/circuit assemblies such as ATE
load boards and HTOL MCC/Infinity burn-in boards such - able to
understand technical instructions and read schematics and PCB
layout
- Proficient in the use of instruments; DMM, Oscilloscope,
etc.
- Coordinate third-party performance and regulatory
testing
- Participate and support the DFR and FMEA activities during
product design and development.
- Support R&D and Manufacturing in process improvements and
cost reduction activities
- Participate in test tool gauge studies and cross site
calibration with contract manufacturers
- Analyze test results and submit recommendations for
improvement
- Able to work with and train lab and factory technicians and
operators
- Participate in non-conformance investigations, failure
analysis, corrective actions and dispositions
- Participate in ECO processing with a focus on design for
manufacturability, BOM/Routings, and ERP update
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science,
or equivalent field.
- 5+ years of test engineering experience in ATE development in
the semiconductor industry.
- Operational knowledge of product release in the following areas
of chip manufacturing:
- Reliability
- PCB
- Test Engineering
- Product Engineering
- Production
Preferred Experience
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication
skillset to interact/engage with customers and team
- Demonstrated success managing multiple major and concurrent
projects
- Able to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing
environment
- Proven willingness and ability to operate independently with
minimal oversight, comfortable prioritizing and escalating as
needed to succeed
