Job Description:
- Mentors diagnostics engineers on the use of the Integrated
Diagnostics Application Generator (IDAG)
- Generates and tracks diagnostics and testability requirements and
develops test plans to demonstrate compliance with design/contract
requirements.
- Provides related diagnostics and testability
technical/performance requirements for component/subsystem/system
specifications.
- Analyzes system and subsystem designs for diagnostics and
testability deficiencies using model-based tools and recommends
potential corrective action.
- Develops strategies, testing, and analysis methods for complex
problems.
- Performs troubleshooting on electrical/electronic and computer
assemblies at sub-system and system levels using the most effective
method.
- Ensures diagnostics and testability designs are tested in
accordance with design requirements.
- Integrates detailed design elements in the areas of Built in Test
(BIT), and automatic and manual test programs
- Provides a cost effective capability to detect and isolate
unambiguously all faults known or expected to occur in systems and
equipment.
- Understands subsystem and system integration and may conduct
design reviews (internal and external).
- Interfaces with suppliers, subcontractors, and customers to
integrate diagnostics and testability analysis and solutions at the
system level.
- Provides technical assistance and problem solving during
fabrication, assembly and test.
- Understands the interface of hardware configuration items (HWCI)
with computer software configuration items (CSCI) at assembly,
subsystem, and system levels.
- Facilitates the preparation of detail drawings and technical
documentation. -- Prepares presentation materials for senior
management and for internal/external customers.

Experience:
- Development of testability project plans and reports
- Development and update of fault library information
- Development of diagnostics design documents
- Support and interface with the software team for implementation
of diagnostics solutions
- Familiarity with current industry-standard fault analysis
software tools
- Experience with Integrated Diagnostics Application Generators
(IDAG).
Skills:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical,
Aerospace, or Software Engineering) or equivalent experience as a
substitution for education.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with
peers and customers to solve technical problems, to work
successfully in a team environment. Interfaces well with upper
level management and the customer. Conducts effective meetings and
discussions at any level of the organization.
- Provides technical leadership, expert technical consultation or
advice, or mentoring to others related to on-going technological
and analytical advances in current domain areas. This includes
routinely providing leadership or technical guidance to several
levels of technical personnel, senior management, and external
customers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability
to give technical presentations to large audiences.
- Ability to manage tasks against cost and schedule.
- Ability to develop project plan for diagnostics efforts and
manage execution as defined by the project plan.
- Experience with Vehicle Diagnostics Management Software
- Experience with Vehicle Integrated Diagnostics Application
software that generates test logic for embedded run-time
diagnostics.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical,
Aerospace, or Software Engineering) or equivalent experience as a
substitution for education.
