Sr. Materials Engineer
Job Purpose: The Division Materials Leader is responsible for all technical aspects of Sanmina's PCB materials. This includes initiating the appropriate testing in a proactive fashion, keeping the broader Sanmina manufacturing team up-to-date, providing guidance and assistance with problems or opportunities, and monitoring developments in the industry. This position reports to the Vice President of Engineering and Technology Development
Nature of Duties:

• Define and execute, using the Sanmina site manufacturing capability, the testing required to adequately characterize the materials that may be required in the Sanmina manufacturing ecosystem.
• Publish these results to the worldwide Sanmina technical team, and ensure that the preferred materials list is updated. This also includes ensuring that the materials data is updated in the InPlan system.
• Define what UL testing is required based on the anticipated and known need for material availability in the Sanmina manufacturing ecosystem.
• Initiate the technical work, coordinate the build process at the sites, and interact with UL.
• Provide materials expertise as the "go-to" person for our customers, our sales team, our FAE team and our plant operations teams.
• Maintain an up-to-date materials presentation as a part of the Technology Road Map process.
• Maintain the InPlan IMM data base and update and add new materials as needed and as requested. Education and Experience:
  • BS in Engineering is required.
  • 10 years of PCB experience is required, preferably in Materials or Lamination.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills - Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced work environment.
