Job Description:
Acacia, now part of Cisco, develops leading edge transceiver
hardware for optical communication over fiber lengths from 100km to
greater than 10,000km, at bandwidths from 100G to 1.2Tbps.This
requires complex DSP algorithms in addition to novel low-power
semiconductor development techniques. We package the latest CMOS
node ASICs along with millimeter-wave analog and silicon photonics
devices in order to provide the smallest form factor, highest
bandwidth and lowest power products on the market.Job
Description:You will be key member of Acacia's Hardware team and
contribute to the hardware life cycle of our products. You will
work within a multi-disciplinary hardware, Software, Optics, and
DSP engineering organization. The PCB Design Engineer is
responsible for layout design for multi-layer surface mount and
mixed technology printed circuit boards using Cadence Allegro CAD
tools. This role will work closely with the Hardware engineering
team to implement hardware requirements and constraints into
complex PCBs.Essential Responsibilities:
- Create PCB layout using Allegro PCB Editor for complex
high-speed analog and digital designs
- Assist in creating, verifying, and maintaining device level
component library
- Produce PCB fabrication, assembly drawings, and data according
to Acacia Product Lifecycle standards
- Create PCB related ECO's and revisions to artwork when
required
- Produce complete sets of PCB production deliverables
- Remain current on technology trends related to PCB design
processes and toolsMinimum Qualifications, Experience, Skills,
Education and Certifications:
- 12 or more years of experience in PCB design and
design/drafting/Library creation
- Expert knowledge of cadence Allegro PCB Editor
- Solid understanding of complex PCB design technologies
(multi-laminated PCBs, buried/stacked vias, exotic board materials,
Microstrip, Stripline, CPW, differential pair, etc.)
- Demonstrated background in closely collaborating with HW and
Mechanical design engineers to translate requirements into PCB
designs
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to contribute to complex
PCB stackup selection
- Layout experience with dense BGA (0.5mm or less) and small
discrete footprints (0201, 01005)
- Demonstrated understanding of modern PCB DFA/DFM standards for
volume production
- Proficient with MS software, Adobe Acrobat tools
- Clear, effective written and verbal communication skills with
focus on details
- Team player with ability to multi-task, meet aggressive
schedules, and exercise good organizational skillsHighly Desired
Skills:
- PCB design skills for mix signal high speed design techniques
above 20GHz
- Miniature Electromechanical packaging skills and PCB
tradeoffs
- Design for Manufacturability tradeoffs
- Working understanding of Product Life Cycle Management (PLM)
