Celestica Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and self-driven candidate qualified for the position of Senior Mechanical Engineering to be a part of a market leading Celestica Hardware Design Group. As a subject matter expert, the successful candidate will be responsible for mechanical engineering assignments related to hardware products as well as systems including development of new products in the area of networking, server, and storage. The candidate will be working closely with Product Marketing and Procurement teams to drive product definitions. -Performs tasks such as, but not limited to the following:

• The position will contribute to the execution of data center products either individually or by leading a combination of internal contributors
• The engineer will play a leading role in architecture definition and product development
• Prepare early design concepts and product architecture working cross-functionally
• Research groundbreaking technology, materials, and processes and innovate with cross-functional team to invent groundbreaking products
• Interfaces with potential customers to help define their needs and to present technical proposals to meet those needs. -
• Work independently and in a team environment.
• Provide technical support to business development teams to assist in the winning of new business.
• Maintain current knowledge on industry trends and future technology and market opportunities.
• 12+ years of relevant experience in design, networking, and/or storage and server.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of the business unit and how decisions impact customer satisfaction, product quality, on-time delivery and the profitability of the unit.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of engineering design and development, and production in a highly dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
• Excellent 3D CAD experience i.e. Creo (Pro E), SolidWorks
• Good grasp of finite element analysis theory and mechanical engineering analysis
• Experienced in design of sheet metal, plastic casting, and working with supply chains and manufacturing
  Typical Education:
  Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master's degree preferred -
