- 139247The RoleAs part of the Client Power and Performance
Customer Attainment Team, we provide performance, power and battery
life engineering expertise on AMD mobile and desktop customer
platforms. The core purpose of the team is to deliver high-quality
power assessments of our products/platforms in Client Systems
Engineering. We are responsible for ensuring AMD OEM customers can
attain an optimized experience on their platforms as compared to
AMD internal reference designs.The Person
- Experience with Product Development: Pre-production System
Performance, Power/battery life characterization and
optimization
- Marketing: AMD product definition/power-performance
trade-offs
- Customer: Root-cause resolution of customer performance and
battery life issues
- Thrives in a high visibility role with the opportunity for
rapid career advancement Key Responsibilities
- Analyzing interactions between various power management
features and optimizing their configurations for PnP
- Develop and maintain scripts used for PnP analysis
- Work along with Power, Platform, and SOC Architects to improve
PnP models used for future programs
- Executing PnP/battery-life measurements and analysis with
various software and hardwre configurations
- Setting up systems and performance/power measurement equipment
for automated test framework
- Proactively driving continuous improvement for post-silicon
performance and power optimization on customer development
platforms Preferred Experience
- Good understanding of computer architecture
- Understanding of board layout and schematics
- PC/Hardware Design in some form at circuit board to
production
- Solid understanding of Windows OS, Chrome OS, and/or Microsoft
products preferred
- Must be involved in the PnP optimization and share past
scenarios
- Power/thermal management experience is an asset
- Experience working in a lab environment, including use of
oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering iron
- Strong analytical/problem solving skills and pronounced
attention to details
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks
to completion
- Experience communicating technical material both internally and
with external customers Academic Credentials
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer
Engineering or a related field plus 5 years of proven experience.
