Introduction to the job
ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, brings together

office locations around the United States including main offices in
Chandler, Ariz., San Jose and San Diego, Calif., Wilton, Conn., and
Hillsboro, Oregon .
Role And Responsibilities
As a Sr. SEM metrology design engineer, you will work in a
multi-disciplinary team to develop the metrology function of new
generation e-beam inspection system.
This position may require access to controlled technology, as
defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. - 730,
et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access
such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business
demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are
immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Work with system engineers and function architects to define the
specifications of SEM metrology, like functionality, performance
and reliability
Develop SEM alignment and calibration methodology and algorithm by
means of experiments, simulation and analysis of existing
(customer) data Implement and verify the algorithm prototypes with
software (Python, MATLAB, C#, etc.)
Realize new functionality by interacting with specialist software
designers in the project team
Perform feasibility studies into required improvements
Troubleshoot issues in factory and customer sites

Education And Experience
A Master's degree or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Optics, Physics or
other related field.
Experience with data analysis and modeling
Experience designing algorithms and functional models. Able to
break down a large problem into manageable components.
Knowledge about the software development process
Experience with functional specification and integration
Knowledge and experience in scanning electron microscope is a
plus
Troubleshooting skills on complex system

Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard,

May require travel (domestic or international) dependent on
business needs - less than 20% of work time.

Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing
coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire
duration of shift.
The employee may very occasionally lift and/or move up to 20

The environment in cleanroom generally is moderate in temperature
with moderate to high noise level.
Occasionally may need to work a compressed work week schedule -
twelve-hour long shift and rotating from three to four days a
week.
