Battery Module/Pack Engineer is responsible for designing and
prototyping high voltage and high-power battery systems in
electrified aircrafts. The role is actively involved in the ESS
development process to include conceptual designs, selection of
components, prototype builds, and releasing designs for
manufacturing. This role works closely with battery system
technologists to integrate and advance key technologies of the
design, and DAEs, test engineers and product integration engineers
to ensure a robust ESS is designed, built, and incorporated in the
eVTOL aircraft.What you can do:
- Design modules and packs for HV battery system from concept to
production
- Perform analytical and physical assessments of battery system
to ensure the design's robustness, reliability, and
requirements
- Support the engineering tools development to provide trade-off
studies between packaging efficiency, thermal, NVH prior to and/or
during design phases
- Responsible for battery systems FMEAs, including safety
features
- Build and contribute to component specifications, verification
plans, and other technical documents
- Document and release designs in the PLM system
- Conduct prototype builds
- Collaborate with battery system technologists to develop and to
introduce new technologies into current battery modules/packs
design
- Collaborate with battery component suppliers to support new
technology development
- Collaborate with the battery integration team to optimize and
improve the battery system design including the thermal control
system
- Collaborate with battery test and validation team on DVP&R
activities
- May require up to 10% of domestic and international
travels
- Other duties as assignedWhat you can contribute:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical
engineering or relevant engineering field
- A minimum of 5-8 years of proven experience in HV battery
system design (an equivalent combination of education and
experience may be considered)
- A strong understanding of structural composites, thermal
interface materials, thermal barriers, high voltage/high power
safety and design for safety
- Proficiency in CATIA and at least one battery system
modeling/simulation suite
- Excellent understanding of mechanical structures, electrical
and thermal analysis of a battery system, especially for high
voltage and high-power applications
- Must have hands-on experience in prototype build high voltage
battery packs
- Proven experience developing engineering tools/processes to
support analysis and design
- Professional knowledge of Lithium-based batteries
- Experience with DOEs for performance evaluation and hardware
test & validation for HV battery pack
- Proven experience developing engineering tools/processes to
support analysis and design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and
accomplish work within time constraints
- Self-motivated and forward-thinking personalityYou may also be

- M.S/PhD in a related engineering field
- Experience in designing and testing battery systems against
DO-160 and DO-311
