Join Zebra.The candidate for Senior Electrical Engineer will join a small and nimble Hardware Engineering team, and will be focused on all electrical engineering aspects of the Fetch/Zebra AMR products. The successful candidate will collaborate with and assist other team members to develop , electrical, mechanical, and system designs. This includes designing and debugging printed circuit boards, engineering robust system designs, and prototyping all aspects of the hardware system. The candidate will evaluate new technologies and develop new features for the current and future Fetch products. The candidate will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and system software teams . This candidate will define, develop and test the hardware and migrate that hardware system to a production release state and facilitate a successful hand off to Fetch Production organization Responsibilities:

  • Design & schematic capture of digital and analog electrical circuits and systems
  • Propose, negotiate, design and test electrical solutions to achieve functional and performance objectives
  • Team Lead Role: Direct/Lead Electrical and Systems engineering projects
  • Project Management: Track the progress of hardware development for projects such as: next generation robots, manufacturing test fixtures, and existing product reliability upgrades
  • Collaborating with engineers on multiple concurrent projects
  • Extensive work with microcontrollers, microprocessors (ARM), SOCs
  • Processor peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, storage, high speed serial)
  • Sensors and transducers
  • Brushless motor drive design and troubleshooting experience
  • Motor control PCB design
  • Battery charger systems and batteries
  • Design and troubleshooting of safety and lidar systems
  • EMC design, troubleshooting, and compliance testing
  • Some analog electrical design, as needed
  • Cable harness design experience
  • Work independently and lead deliverables to align with dynamic project goals
  • Lead and review PCB layout
  • Build proof-of-concept and initial prototype hardware
  • Troubleshooting, defining and seeking resources to recognize and resolve electrical, mechanical and/or software improvement opportunities with system components.
  • Customizing service manuals, as required
  • Interfacing with customers, when needed Qualifications: Minimum Qualification:
    • BS in Electrical, Robotics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent
    • 4+ years' work Electrical Engineering Experience.
    • Advanced level of understanding of the electrical engineering discipline
    • Advanced level of knowledge of electrical components
    • Strong understanding of sustainable design practicesPreferred Qualifications:
      • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
      • Experience with ECAD software, Eagle, Altium, or equivalent
      • Experience in taking designs from concept through manufacturing
      • Project management experience using Microsoft Project, or Smartsheet, or equivalent
      • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
      • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
      • Working knowledge of best practices for PCB layout and construction
