The candidate will be part of PayPal Data Technology's Engineering Team. The candidate will be responsible for analysis, design, coding and build security framework for ETL teams in Big data. The candidate has to interact with global cross-functional teams to address complex business requirements. The role demands the individual to possess technical skills required to perform the job in an effective manner. The individual should be self-motivated, possess creative problem-solving skills and have the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.

Responsibilities: In this role, the individual will be part of the engineering team in Enterprise Datalake Organization and will be responsible for.

  • Participating and collaborating with Product Owner/Cross functional teams in the organization to understand the business requirements and to deliver solutions that can scale.
  • Working closely with Architecture team in designing solutions for Data integration and Transformation
  • Creativity and out of the box thinking is required.
  • Proactively anticipating problems and keeping the team and management informed in a timely manner.
  • Being flexible and being able to support all functions of product life cycle when required.
  • Will be acting as tech lead and produce quality deliverables. Required Skills:
    • 10+ years of experience in the IT industry and 4+ years of experience in Big Data Engineering is Mandatory.
    • Hands on in Programming proficiency in any programming language like Java/Python, Scala, C/ C++ and Shell/ Perl scripting experience.
    • Strong fundamentals of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms and design patterns
    • Experience in Big Data Applications Design and Development
    • Proficient in Frameworks - Spring, Maven, Hibernate
    • Knowledge of Real time Analytics
    • Expert in software engineering tools and best practices
    • Expert in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability and performance
    • Should have strong SQL programming skills
    • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
    • Proficient in Big data Environments -, Hadoop, Spark, Spark Streaming, Pig, Hive, MR
    • Experience in GCP Environment & tools - Spark Streaming, BigQuery, Bigtable, Spanner preferred
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills Desired Skills:
      • Experience in Big Data Applications Design and Development
      • Knowledge in MPP Databases/ Distributed systems
      • Knowledge on Data Encryption Standards is a huge plus
      • Exposure to Data Quality and Profiling tools is a plus.
