Associate Member of the Technical Staff, Equipment Engineer -- Manufacturing Operations HQ- San Jose, CA / Manufacturing - Manufacturing Operations / Come join us on our mission as we revolutionize energy storage to enable a sustainable future. Quantumscape--is looking for an Equipment Engineer who will partner with Process Engineers to maintain, optimize, and refine processing equipment at our factory. In this position, you will provide equipment support for both our R&D and Manufacturing development teams. You will identify equipment-related problems and provide solutions to these challenges by partnering with our strategic equipment vendors. You will own the development of the equipment maintenance programs and will support and develop equipment hardware upgrades that drive improved operational efficiency. Responsibilities: -- Identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly and process-related problems.-- -- A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and fix mechanical systems.-- -- Effectively communicate issues that may cause yield loss, excursions, defects, tool restrictions, or output loss.-- -- Coordinate and execute the process, equipment, and material evaluation/optimization initiatives and implement changes at the process step.-- -- Lead / participate in continuous yield improvement and cost reduction activities.-- -- Tackle required safety training and conducts all work per safety regulations, follow up on related issues immediately, and submit good catches for safety incidents.-- -- Ensures accurate tool documentation/reaction mechanisms exist and submits updates to content when needed.-- -- Maintains a constant improvement program for defect reduction/yield improvement-- -- Partner with shift teams, process owners, and operations leaders to resolve tool process issues,--improve tool output, and set daily priorities.-- -- Collaborate with other shift Engineers/Technicians to gather input for area improvement.-- -- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.-- -- Operates and maintains tools according to documentation and guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met.-- Qualifications-- -- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Electronic Engineering Technology-- -- Intermediate PC skills including familiarity with MS Office Word.-- -- Proven ability to communicate and present effectively including data extraction, analysis, and reporting skills.-- -- Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.-- -- Dedication to following procedures and working with minimal supervision.-- -- Ability to partner with co-workers and contribute to--a diverse team.-- -- The ability to code in python or other programming languages is a plus.-- Physical Requirements: -- May work with clean room and/or wear neoprene or vinyl gloves for 15-30% of the time. -- May frequently reach above shoulder heights and below the--waist. -- Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, lift, push and extend arms.
