Description:Job Summary: Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area, specifically reading instruction.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:45AM - 4:45PM
Duties/Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates and abides by the Company Core Values and the operating principles.

• Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to insure maximum learning.
• Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
• Prepares applicable students for entry into HSE/HSD programming.
• Prepares applicable students for required TABE testing and assisting with required 60 hours of instruction within mandated time frames.
• Complete Evaluations of Student Program (ESP's) in a timely manner for students in assigned areas and may participate in evaluation panels. Provides other behavior and progress assessments as requested.
• Maintains confidentiality, but reports significant events or situations immediately through approved channels to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff, and to ensure that required reporting occurs, and that students receive emergency services as needed.
• Facilitates prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, or emotional trauma.
• Meets individually with student assigned to their area responsibility at a minimum of once each month documenting the meetings in case notes.
• Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
• Responsible for the maintenance of student personnel folders.
• Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.
• Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms.
• Responsible for ensuring that the equipment and supplies are cared for.
• Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms.
• Responsible for reports required by the Manager such as student/staff hours, requisitions and monthly student evaluations.
• Assists Manager during scheduled inventory.
• Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements:Minimum: Postsecondary Degree. State Teaching Certification is required.
  Preferred: One year in a teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth.
  Knowledge: Knowledge of required subject area, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, excellent organizational skills, must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification, ability to motivate and inspire students, ability to effectively relate to student population.
