- $124,340.94 - $150,170.07 Certificated Management salary

- Master's and Doctoral supplements of $2,554.00

Under the direction and general supervision of the Principal, the
Assistant Principal serves as a critical member of the site-based
instructional leadership team. As a part of the leadership team,
the Assistant Principals support the Principal to ensure that the
school meets rigorous goals, specifically to ensure all students
graduate college and career ready, while supporting student health,
welfare, and safety.
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership
- Supports overall management of the school's instructional and
extra-curricular programs; serves as part of the site leadership
team
- Sets and meets rigorous goals related to school improvement,
and college and career readiness
- Assists in selection, supervision, and evaluation of
certificated and classified staff
- Assists in the development and implementation of effective
communications with staff, students, and the community
- Works with parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and
students to support student academic progress, attendance,
discipline and welfare; facilitates parent conferences
- Assists in development and facilitation of high-quality
professional learning opportunities Develops and facilitates staff
professional development Instructional Program
- Implements rigorous protocols for analyzing data and progress
toward goals
- Assists in the design and implementation of the school's
instructional program
- Coordinates administration of state and district
assessments
- Provides support with instructional materials including
instructional technology
- Assists in the development of the master class schedule and the
assignment of teachers to courses
- Serves as a part of the instructional coaching team; coaches
and evaluates instruction
- Prepares and maintains necessary records and reports
- Creates and updates Student Handbook; supervises development
and maintenance of school or student calendars, handbooks,
schedules, and bulletins
- Coordinates and assists in student orientation and class
registration processes. Health, Welfare, and Safety
- Administers programs for student health and welfare
- Supports process of building positive school culture; maintains
student discipline and campus safety
- Supervises building and ground use
- Supervises counseling and guidance personnel
- Manages and monitors attendance accounting systems and policies
within the school
- Collaborates with School Resource Officers and SJPD
- Maintains and updates the School Safety Plan; supervises site
emergency procedures
- Oversees the Incident Command System at the site in case of
disaster
- Monitors student discipline systems, and implements restorative
justice practices as applicable
- Assists counseling department in supporting students, including
Student Study Teams (SSTs), 504 plans, and Individualized Education
Plans (IEPs) Program Coordination / Extracurricular
- Acts as a liaison to community organizations
- Assumes responsibility for assigned aspects of graduation
ceremonies
- Coordinates the assignment of faculty to co-curricular
activities
- Supervises athletic and/or intramural events
- Supervises student and school activities
- Implements state law and district policy
- Oversees student enrollment processes including data entry and
reporting Performs all other duties as assigned by the school

technology

- Facilitate both large and small group trainings, discussions,
and presentations
- Manage multiple projects and duties concurrently
- Perform supervisory tasks such as instructing, training,
reviewing work and coordinating activities
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Remain student-focused Education and Experience
- Bilingual Spanish desirable
- Demonstrated leadership within the past five years,
particularly in one or more areas of: teacher
leadership, curriculum development, instructional leadership,
student support, and staff development preferred
- Experience teaching in grades 9-12 desirable
- Experience with high school students and secondary
programs
- Master's Degree
- Valid CA driver's license
- Valid Preliminary or Clear California Administrative Services
Credential Physical Demands in the Work Environment

- Travel to district sites for meetings; travel to conferences
and workshop within the state

objects, materials, and equipment used on the job, including
telephone and computer
