Job Description:
The Montessori Teaching Assistant guides children in an
environment that nurtures the children's needs, challenges each
child to reach his/her fullest potential, in accord with the
Montessori philosophy and CA State Ed curriculum. Teaching
Assistant will work with all teaching staff to implement a cohesive
program; will support Montessori education for parents, teaching
staff and administration. Assistant will support the Teacher in all
classroom duties, create/implement lesson plans; assist students
toward self-directed learning and normalization. Supervise lunch
and recess activities. Participate in professional activities
designated by Head of School. May go on day-long excursions and/or
overnights as long as three-four nights.Ability to handle crisis
with evidence of maturity and good judgment. Bachelors degree
desired and Montessori certification is required. Term:
