Description:Start your journey into space with Microchips FPGA
Business unit as a Principal Engineer - Product Marketing. As a
leader in the Aerospace and Defense industry, you will be exposed
to the multi-decade expansion into space that is occurring
world-wide. The candidate for this position will be responsible for
growing our business in New Space and have product line management
responsibilities.Business Development:
- Identify and target new space customers with our extensive
space portfolio
- Review sales opportunities, design ins, and design wins with
sales team and escalate any issues preventing successful and
expedient closure of opportunities
- Provide inputs to the FPGA forecasting team
- Present quarterly business results, design opportunities
funnel, and initiatives to the executive management team -Product
Management and Inbound Marketing
- Operate within a cross-functional environment including
engineering and application teams to provide technical input on
customer requirements and feedback, to seek and provide resolution
to product issues and enhancements
- Support the QA department in the generation, development, and
enhancement of SMDs (Standard Microcircuit Drawings) for QML
products
- Own and execute technical marketing activities on Microchip
products for New Space and Space, including development of business
plans, marketing plans, product introduction, sales training, and
product promotionProduct Promotion and Outbound Marketing:
- Create, maintain, and enhance technical customer-facing
presentations on Microchip products and capabilities
- Represent Microchip at trade shows, exhibitions, and webinars
by staffing the Microchip booth and by presenting technical papers
at various relevant shows and conferences
- Present product updates and product promotions to customers
onsite or virtuallyTravel Required:
- The position will require travel for 10% to 25% of the time.
International travel to Europe, Asia and India may be
necessaryRequirements/Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent. -Prior
Experience:The candidate must have at least 8.5+ years of
experience in product marketing, with a demonstrated track record
of successful outbound marketing activities such as customer
meetings and presentations, contributed articles, brochures and
collateral, campaign planning and execution. -Additionally, at
least 2 years of engineering experience in one of the following
areas will be required:
- FPGA design, validation or application support
- Digital or analog ASIC design, validation or application
support
- ASIC or FPGA CAE tool development or application
supportCommunication Skills:The candidate must have excellent
communication skills, verbal and written, and be able to
communicate Microchip's position and message on complex technical
issues, as well as listen carefully to customer inputs and relay
those inputs accurately back to the Microchip engineering and
management teams.Citizenship: US Citizenship required

Range:The expected base salary range for this position, if filled
in California, is $75,000 - $232,000, dependent on specific skills
and work experience. We offer a total compensation package that
