Water's Management Analyst I/II (MA I/II) position resides within
the Office of Racial Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (REDI) which
drives Valley Water's response to individual and systematic racism
internally and promotes equity and environmental justice externally
to all the communities Valley Water serves.The REDI MA I/II will
provide program support and will assist in the strategic
development and implementation of REDI programs, policies, and
measurements to achieve REDI outcomes at an interpersonal level,
organizational level, and community level.The REDI MA I/II will
support various efforts to ensure that racial equity, diversity,
and inclusion are addressed in all existing policies, programs, and
practices as a part of the decision-making processes within Valley
Water. They may also assist in external collaborations with
committees and groups for continuous learning and provide
recommendations on improving programs and advancing racial equity
and inclusion within the communities served by Valley Water. They
will conduct research and analysis, collect program data, interpret
information, and produce data reports to help measure program
outcomes.Our ideal candidate is analytical, organized,

management, communication, and customer service skills and a track
record of taking the initiative and delivering results. This
position requires occasional offsite event work at night and on the
weekends. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited
to:Provide general office operations support (i.e., website
maintenance, meeting coordination) and program implementation
support for all REDI Office programs.Research and analyze pertinent
equity and justice policies internally within Valley Water and
externally on regional, local, state, and national levels to inform
best practices for program development and implementation.Research,
prepare, and produce written reports, recommendations and other
communications for the Board, committees, executive management, and
other functional areas.Provide administrative support and event
planning assistance to the Employee Resource Group (ERGs).Support
program staff in the assigned business areas to develop
environmental justice and other equity initiatives in alignment
with organizational goals while addressing the unique needs and
issues of each business area.Provide administrative support (take
minutes and track action items) for advisory groups, workgroups and
other REDI convened stakeholder groups. Coordinate and organize
ongoing program surveys, including developing surveys, analyzing
data, and presenting findings and recommendations.This position may
require occasional onsite or after-hours work in the evening and/or
on the weekends. The REDI Management Analyst may also be called
upon to serve in Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as part of the
public information office branch, and/or as a Disaster Service
Worker during emergency activations, as needed.Ideal Candidate's

Experience:MA I: At least one year of experience performing complex

community stakeholders.Experience working with Employee Resource

procedures.Represent the unit/division and Valley Water in meetings
with governmental agencies, community groups, and various
businesses, professional, and regulatory organizations, and in
meetings with individuals.Ideal Knowledge:Principles and practices
of public administration as applied to assigned operational unit
and program administration.Principles and practices of
administrative, organizational, economic, and procedural
analysis.Methods and techniques used to analyze
business/operational processes and recommend solutions for existing
problems.Principles of budget preparation, analysis, forecasting,
and control.Principles and procedures of financial recordkeeping
and reporting.Methods and techniques used to collect and analyze
data and prepare reports based on findings.Government agency
programs such as, but not limited to, finance, budgeting,
procurement, human resources, government relations, legal, water
utility and watershed operations and management, and/or other
related programs.Organizational and management practices as applied
to the analysis, evaluation, development, and implementation of
programs, policies, and procedures.Principles of business writing
and report preparation.Common desktop applications and software as
well as specialized software related to the work.Ideal Training and
Education:Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited
college or university with major coursework in areas related to the
REDI Manager position. Directly related experience may be
substituted for the college requirement on the basis of one and
one-half years of experience for one year of education to a maximum
of four years.Required License or Certificate Possession of, or
ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's

Employment with Valley Water requires employees to live within 150
miles of their primary physical work location located in San Jose,

hybrid telework schedule, typically working 40% remote and 60%
