General Responsibilities: We are excited to add the position of Corporate Accounting Manager to the business to support a build-out of an accounting function that is fit for the aggressive growth we pursue. The position will report to the VP of Finance and will supervise accounting staff and coordinate all accounting functions of the businesses. This individual will play a key role building a best-in-class accounting function and will be a thought partner in developing, formalizing and implementing best practices across the accounting function. The ideal candidate is agile, able to create structure in unstructured environments, a team player, and enjoys meeting problems with solutions. We already have some scale through our first acquisitions, but we view AssuranceSD as a startup. We are a collaborate team that does not hesitate to ---roll up our sleeves--- and work together to build leading processes at both the division and corporate levels. As such, the Corporate Accounting Manager will also have ongoing exposure and opportunities to partner across other areas of the business (e.g. Finance, M&A, Operations, etc.). Interested? Please send inquiries and resumes to joeassuranceSD.com Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Corporate Accounting Manager will supervise accounting staff and coordinate accounting functions of the businesses while having the opportunity to partner with other functions (e.g. Finance, M&A, operations, technical accounting, operations, etc). Oversee and take ownership of the monthly close processes including detailed analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP Manage a team of site-level accountants at the acquired businesses (including AR, AP and site-level financial reporting) Own consolidation accounting and reconciliations of intercompany accounts Lead the annual audit process including preparation of the financial statements / footnotes, coordinating data requests with the audit team, and managing the associated timelines Liaise with our tax advisor to coordinate annual federal and state income tax returns and other tax compliance filings, and coordinate all tax research/projects Provide support for the annual budgeting and planning process Assist in treasury management and cash flow projections Assist in purchase accounting entries (in conjunction with the VP Finance and external advisors) Be a thought leader in developing and implementing best practices across the business Who You Are: 5 years of accounting experience (prior public accounting experience a plus) CPA and/or equivalent preferred Strong ERP systems experience preferred (we---re on NetSuite) Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) Strong knowledge of US GAAP Excellent communicator, both written and verbal; able to communicate complex concepts and risk factors to stakeholders and influence decision making Excitement around navigating a high growth, rapidly changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment Experience building, developing, mentoring, and inspiring a high performing professional accounting team Collaborative, team player Embody our values of empathy, empowerment, ambition, accountability, and ethics
